Event Details

45minutes weekly. Registration and MPL library card required. Bring your own equipment. Limited to students currently in Grades 4-6. This is a club, not a class.

Children will use Fiero Code on their own devices to learn coding, animation, HTML, and more at their own pace. The software is geared for kids ages 8-18 and will guide students through an independent learning journey that includes project-based learning, story-based learning, and incorporates many fun gamification elements. Children can also use Fiero at home (with internet and a library card.) Children will be learning by doing independent projects rather than being taught in teacher/classroom style.

These meetings are geared for children in Grades 4-6 using their own internet-capable tablet, Chromebook, or laptop. Ms. Cheryl and teen volunteers will facilitate, cheerlead, and help children learn how to work through roadblocks. Our goal is to help children transition from teacher-led instruction to project-driven learning and teamwork with opportunities to share their projects and inspire other club members. 

Please register so that we can send you directions on how to set up your child's account(s). You will receive an email titled Enrollment from Fiero Code within a day or so of registering. You will need your MPL library card number to set up the Fiero account. It's important to set up your child's account before their first meeting!

If you need a library card with us, parents can bring their photo ID and proof of Ohio address to the library. If you do not intend to check out physical materials from us, then adults can set up a digital account online. Information here
